Late last week, Chicago rapper Hollywood Holt released his mixtape entitled These Are the Songs that Didn't Make the Album but Are Still Cold as Hell so Shut the Fuck Up. As you guessed it, he's got an official album on the way soon. In the meantime, be sure to head over to his site to listen to the mixtape for free. If you only listen to one song, be sure to check out the track Almost There (produced by Klever). It's second to last on the mixtape and frankly, the fact that it didn't make the final cut makes me more excited to hear the final album once it's release!

You can help out a few local friends hoping to launch their design program by watching the video above and voting for them here. Voting ends tomorrow so don't delay! (vimeo)
The Mad Decent/Jelly block party took over The Hideout this past weekend with a handful of fun artists and plenty of other goofy stuff to do. Kid Sister, Maluca, Willy Joy, The Ghetto Division & Freddie Gibbs, among others, graced the stage while The Dirty Diamonds manned the dunk tank. Overall, it was a super fun time!

The downtown crowd got their Colt 45 buzz on last Thursday at Angels & Kings and I was there to document the madness, as always.
